The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration will hold a major Independence Day celebration at the Old Parade Ground on August 14.
The event will start at 5 p.m. and admission will be free for the public. Families and friends are invited to join the celebrations, which will feature performances from popular artists including Nimra Mehra, Sahir Ali Bagga and Khumariyan Band.
The program will also include performances by Islamabad Police squads, the Jhang Dance Group, dhol performers, pipe and percussion bands and a camel band.

Several activities and attractions have been arranged for families and children. These will include children’s mascots, Rafi Peer mascots, a collection of vintage cars and a vintage bikes squad. A fireworks display will also be held during the event.
The celebrations will be held under the theme “A Celebration of Unity in Diversity” and will feature music, cultural performances and entertainment for families.
The CDA and ICT Administration have encouraged residents to bring their families and friends and take part in the Independence Day celebrations at the Old Parade Ground.
