Gold and silver prices dropped in both international and local markets on Thursday after trading resumed following a two-day break. In the international bullion market, the price of gold fell by $29 per ounce and reached $5,176.
As global rates declined, gold prices in the domestic market also went down. The price of gold per tola decreased by Rs2,900 and settled at Rs540,362. Likewise, the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs2,486, bringing it to Rs463,273.
Silver prices also recorded a decline in the local market. The rate of silver per tola fell by Rs179 and came down to Rs9,175. The price of 10 grams of silver decreased by Rs153 and stood at Rs7,866.
The fall in precious metal prices followed a short pause in trading earlier this week, with both gold and silver adjusting downward in line with changes in the international bullion market.
