Former ISI chief Faiz Hameed sentenced to 14 years by military court

Former ISI chief Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed has been handed a 14-year rigorous imprisonment sentence by a Field General Court Martial, the ISPR confirmed.

The court-martial began on August 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act, and continued for nearly 15 months. During the proceedings, Hameed faced four major charges, including involvement in political affairs, breaching the Official Secrets Act, endangering state security, misusing authority and government resources, and causing financial loss to individuals.

After reviewing the evidence, the court found him guilty on all charges, and the verdict was announced on December 11, 2025.

The ISPR stated that the trial followed all legal requirements, and Hameed was allowed full legal representation by a defense team of his choice. He also has the right to challenge the verdict in the relevant appeal forum.

The military further said that accusations involving his alleged role in creating political instability with the help of political figures, along with related issues, are being handled separately.
