LAHORE: Humid weather is expected to persist in flood-hit districts of Punjab from Thursday evening through the next two days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met Office said continental air is dominating most parts of the country. Under these conditions, Lahore and much of Punjab will continue to experience muggy weather, while Murree and Galyat are likely to see partly cloudy skies.
The spell of dry weather comes as a relief for flood-affected areas, where continuous rains had been worsening the plight of people already displaced and were hampering rescue and relief efforts.
In Lahore, maximum temperatures on Friday and Saturday are expected to hover between 34°C and 36°C.
Over the last 24 hours, humid conditions prevailed in most Punjab districts. Attock recorded the highest temperature at 38°C, followed by Sargodha at 37°C and Dera Ghazi Khan at 36°C. In Lahore, the mercury touched 34°C, with morning humidity noted at 77 percent.
