Banks to remain closed nationwide this Thursday

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that it will remain closed on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in observance of Independence Day, as declared by the Government of Pakistan.

This annual holiday holds great national significance, commemorating the day Pakistan gained independence in 1947.

Offices, markets, and institutions across the country traditionally observe the day with various celebrations, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and patriotic events.

Following the SBP’s announcement, all banks, microfinance banks, and development finance institutions across the country will also suspend operations on the same day.

This closure will give employees an opportunity to participate in Independence Day activities and spend time with their families, while also allowing the nation to collectively reflect on its history, achievements, and future goals.
