10,000 sq-ft Pakistani flag set to fly at Wagah for Youm-e-Takbeer

A giant 10,000 square foot Pakistani flag, crafted specially in Karachi for Youm-e-Takbeer, has been sent to Lahore to be raised at the Wagah Border, directly facing India’s national flag on a 110-foot pole.

This new flag is 400 square feet larger than the previous one flown at the same site.

The initiative is part of the celebrations tied to the significance of May 28, Youm-e-Takbeer, and the patriotic spirit surrounding Operation Bonyan al-Marsous.

The flag was accurately made over two weeks at a facility in Karachi’s Korangi area, where about 25 skilled workers handled its stitching and assembly around the clock.

After initial work at the factory, the fabric was transported to Hill Park near Tariq Road, where the white crescent and star were carefully drawn, cut, and sewn onto the vast green cloth.

The striking sight attracted passersby and park visitors, many of whom stopped to take photos and interact with the team behind the effort.

Sheikh Nisar Parachamwala from VIP Flag Company said, “With this flag, we are breaking our own record. The previous national flag hoisted at Wagah measured 9,600 square feet; this one is around 10,000 square feet.”

He also highlighted that the most delicate part of the job was crafting the crescent and star, which demands exceptional accuracy to get the curves and angles just right.
