Weather update: Heavy rainfall hits multiple cities across Pakistan

Heavy rainfall swept through several cities across Pakistan, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat and refreshing the overall weather.

In Punjab, strong showers with thunder and lightning hit Sialkot, Gujrat, Chiniot, Kasur, Ferozewala, and Sargodha, along with nearby areas.

Similar conditions were reported in Daska, Narowal, Hafizabad, Safdarabad (Khanqah Dogran), Wazirabad, and Sukhiki, as well as regions around Pindi Bhattian and Rojhan.

The rain turned the weather pleasant in Narowal and surrounding towns. Wazirabad, in particular, experienced gusty winds along with heavy showers, further shifting the weather pattern in the region.

In Sindh and Balochistan, cities like Shahdadkot, Qambar, Mehar, Qubo Saeed Khan, and Sujawal Junejo also received moderate to heavy rainfall. Karachi saw light drizzle early Thursday morning.

The Sibi region and nearby locations recorded similar rain activity. Heavy rain was reported in Dera Murad Jamali, Chhattar, Manjho Shori, and Nasirabad.

Jacobabad, Jhal Magsi, Osta Muhammad, Gandakha, and Bagh also faced strong showers paired with high winds.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), rescue services, and administration to stay alert due to the ongoing rains and any emergencies that may arise.

He also directed authorities to immediately put preventive measures in place in areas near the Indus River and other rivers to guard against potential flooding.
