Sui Northern sends Rs1.2 crore gas bill to Rawalpindi resident

In a shocking incident of poor management, a resident of Rawalpindi was handed a gas bill of Rs12 million by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), as per the report.

The man, Raja Allah Ditta from the Dhamial area, went to the local SNGPL office to raise a complaint, but officials there reportedly told him he would still have to pay the full amount.

In a video message, Raja Allah Ditta said he is a low-income citizen who hasn’t been able to pay his gas bills for the last four months. He said he was stunned to receive a bill of Rs1.2 crore, an amount he could never afford.

After the story made headlines, an SNGPL spokesperson said the company is looking into the issue.

The spokesperson admitted the huge bill could be the result of an office mistake or technical fault. The company promised a revised bill will be issued after the investigation is completed.
