NEPRA has approved a reduction in electricity bills for K-Electric users, announcing a negative fuel cost adjustment of Rs4.03 per unit. This will be returned in July’s bills for electricity consumed in April.
According to the official notification, NEPRA stated, “it has decided to allow a negative FCA of Rs4.0349 per kWh for April 2025, to be passed on to consumers in the billing month of July 2025.”
However, this reduction will not apply to lifeline users, protected domestic consumers, electric vehicle charging stations, or customers using prepaid meters under a prepaid tariff plan.
The discount will be shown as a separate line in consumer bills based on the number of units used in April.
The notification also mentioned, “If any bills for July 2025 have already been issued previous to this notification, the adjustment may be applied in the following month.”
NEPRA has instructed K-Electric to include this adjustment in all relevant July bills.
