Gold price jumps Rs3,700 per tola in Pakistan

The price of 24 karat gold per tola rose by Rs3,700 on Saturday, reaching Rs473,262, up from Rs469,562 on the previous trading day, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

The rate of 10 grams of 24 karat gold increased by Rs3,172 to Rs405,745, while 10 grams of 22 karat gold went up by Rs2,908 to Rs371,946.

In the international market, gold gained $37 to trade at $4,509 per ounce.

Silver prices also moved higher. The per tola rate climbed by Rs270 to Rs8,465, while 10 grams of silver rose by Rs232 to Rs7,257.

Globally, silver advanced by $2.7 to $79.90 per ounce. The association said local gold prices are calculated on the basis of the interbank exchange rate and 999 purity standards.
