Flood-affected schools in Punjab to remain closed this week

The District Education Authority has announced an extension of holidays in schools across flood-affected areas of Pindi Bhattian, Hafizabad.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Education, schools in 111 villages hit by floods will remain shut until September 12.

He explained that many school buildings have been damaged by floodwater and will only reopen once safety inspections are completed.

The notification stated that all primary, middle, and high schools in the affected villages will stay closed due to the situation.

Meanwhile, data from the Punjab School Education Department revealed that 2,925 government schools across the province remain closed because of floods.

Among these, 817 have suffered partial damage, 45 have been destroyed, and over 1,700 schools are currently being used as flood relief camps.
