The District Administration of Islamabad has released an updated notice introducing slight changes to the ongoing austerity measures. These revised rules came into effect on April 7, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice.
Under the new schedule, all shops, markets, and shopping malls in the capital must shut down by 8:00 PM. Restaurants, hotels, food outlets, tandoors, grocery shops, and karyana stores can continue operating until 10:00 PM. However, takeaway and home delivery services are not affected by these time limits.
Marriage halls, marquees, and other event venues, including those set up on private properties, are also required to close by 10:00 PM. Meanwhile, essential services such as pharmacies, medical stores, hospitals, petrol pumps, CNG stations, bakeries, and milk or dairy shops are not bound by these closing hours.
