Mayor Karachi orders crackdown on illegal advertising across city

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has ordered an immediate operation against individuals and groups involved in illegal advertising activities across the city, as reported on Sunday.

He instructed the Senior Director of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to remove all unauthorized banners and signboards placed on major roads that fall under the Karachi Municipal Corporation’s authority.

The mayor warned that legal cases would be filed against those responsible for putting up illegal advertisements.

He also announced that political flags displayed on the city’s main highways would be taken down.

Mayor Wahab further cautioned that companies promoting advertisements on roads without official approval would face legal consequences.

He added that “Those who eclipse the beauty of the city will be dealt with strictly,” Mayor Karachi warned.
