To mark International Women’s Day, the Government of Sindh plans to give free Pink Electric Scooters to selected women as part of an effort to offer safer and more independent travel options while promoting environmentally friendly transport.
Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the initiative will provide electric scooters to women along with training sessions on road safety and scooter riding. The goal is to make everyday travel easier and safer so women can commute confidently to schools, workplaces and other destinations.
While speaking about the initiative, Memon said the Pink Electric Scooters program aims to strengthen women’s mobility and support their social and economic independence. He also pointed out that electric scooters will help reduce air pollution, making them a cleaner transportation option.
He added that the Sindh government continues to introduce programs focused on women’s welfare, safety and empowerment. These efforts are part of wider steps being taken to improve facilities and opportunities for women across the province.
The scooters will be distributed on March 8 during a special ceremony, marking an important step toward women’s empowerment in the province.
