Four electrocuted while removing billboard in Lahore

In Lahore’s Shahdara area, four people tragically lost their lives after being electrocuted while taking down an iron billboard from a shop roof, according to Rescue officials.

“The iron billboard installed on the shop touched electricity wires, causing the death of four persons by electrocution,” officials stated.

Eyewitnesses said that the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) had directed the shopkeeper to remove the signboard. “Shopkeepers, while not finding an electrician, were themselves removing the signboard to avoid an FIR,” one eyewitness shared.

The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Nadeem, 25-year-old Noman, 26-year-old Awais, and another man whose identity remains unknown.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident near Shalimar Link Road, a nine-year-old girl named Rameen narrowly escaped death when she got stuck to an electric pole while walking through rainwater with her brother. Fortunately, her brother managed to rescue her just in time.
