The Civil Service Commission of Kuwait has announced official working hours for government employees during Ramadan 2026, introducing a flexible timetable to support staff comfort while keeping work performance steady.
According to External Decision No. (1) of 2024, government employees will work four and a half hours daily during the holy month. The policy allows flexible reporting times, letting employees start their duties anytime between 8:30am and 10:30am.
The commission explained that the step is meant to help employees manage the challenges of fasting during Ramadan while ensuring government services continue smoothly. The same schedules, rules, and regulations will be applied across all government departments.
Authorities have been directed to follow these guidelines carefully to maintain balance in operations and to respect the religious importance of the month. The policy is implemented every year during Ramadan, showing the commission’s focus on creating a supportive and adaptable work environment for public sector staff.
