Nawaz Sharif to celebrate Basant with friends in Lahore’s old city

PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif is expected to take part in selected Basant celebrations in Lahore, adding a personal presence to the city’s well known kite festival.

Sharif has arranged a full day of festivities in the old city area, where he plans to host close friends and associates to celebrate the traditional event. According to sources, the former prime minister wants to relive memories while enjoying the classic Basant environment of Lahore.

Known for his appreciation of Lahori traditions, Nawaz Sharif has remained in contact with cultural experts and festival supporters to help ensure that celebrations take place safely and in an organised manner this year.

He considers Basant an important cultural event and also sees it as an opportunity to support local businesses while promoting Punjab’s cultural heritage.

Sharif, who spent much of his early life in Lahore’s old city, is taking part in the festival to highlight both cultural traditions and tourism. Officials believe his participation will promote responsible celebrations and strengthen community involvement.

Through these celebrations, Nawaz Sharif continues contributing to the preservation of Punjab’s cultural traditions while encouraging economic activity linked to the festival season.
