Punjab boards postpone matric exams due to floods

LAHORE: Heavy floods across Punjab have forced authorities to postpone major academic exams.

The Lahore Board and other education boards announced that supplementary matriculation exams, originally planned for September 10, will now begin on September 29.

Officials said the decision was taken in light of severe flooding and continuous rain in several areas, pushing the exams nearly three weeks ahead. A revised date sheet will be released soon.

All boards in Lahore and Punjab confirmed that the step was necessary to protect students’ safety during the crisis.

Students awaiting their date sheets and roll number slips had faced uncertainty as boards temporarily halted their issuance.

With the new schedule finalized, the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen will issue the updated date sheet, after which roll number slips will be distributed.
