LAHORE: The National Savings Centre in Lahore is preparing to hold the first Rs1,500 prize bond draw of 2026, giving citizens a fresh chance to win cash rewards.
Under the existing rules, all Pakistani citizens can purchase prize bonds from SBP BSC offices, authorized commercial bank branches and National Savings Centres by submitting an application along with a copy of a valid CNIC.
Winners can collect their prize money from any SBP BSC field office, selected commercial bank branches or National Savings Centres after filling out the required claim form.
Prize money details
According to the central bank, the first prize carries a cash reward of Rs3 million. There are three second prizes, each worth Rs1 million. In addition, 1,696 third prizes will be awarded, with each winner receiving Rs18,500.
Tax on prize winnings
Under the updated tax policy, prize money will be taxed based on the winner’s filing status. Tax filers will have 15 percent deducted from their winnings, while non filers will be charged a higher rate of 30 percent. As a result, registered tax filers will receive a larger share of their prize amount.
Draw date
The Rs1,500 prize bond draw is scheduled to take place on February 16, 2026, in Lahore.
