Pakistan likely to see more monsoon spells in September

Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Irfan Virk, said on Thursday that the country is expected to see three to four more monsoon spells in September, as per the report.

He explained that above-normal rainfall is forecast for north-eastern Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, and southern Kashmir during the month.

Virk added that south-eastern Sindh is also likely to receive heavier rains than usual, while the rest of the country should experience near-normal precipitation.

He clarified that no new weather system is forming in the northern areas for now, but a monsoon low is expected to enter Sindh within the next three to four days, likely bringing widespread showers across the province.
