Punjab govt announces Rs150 per liter fuel subsidy for farmers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a financial support package for wheat farmers who own up to 25 acres of land in the province.

Under this initiative, eligible farmers will receive a subsidy of Rs150 per liter on 10 liters of diesel for each acre they cultivate.

The chief minister noted that “during the ongoing global crisis, rising oil prices are leading to higher petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan.” She added that she is personally monitoring the subsidy system to ensure that financial assistance reaches every farmer through a transparent and efficient process.

Maryam Nawaz also announced that motorbike registration fees will be abolished across Punjab and that motorbike transfer fees have been waived.
