The chief minister encouraged people to make the most of the extended holidays by taking time to rest and enjoy leisure activities, noting that the break offers a chance to relax and regain energy.
At the same time, authorities in Lahore have intensified arrangements for Basant, the annual kite-flying festival. Lahore Commissioner Maryam Khan has instructed assistant commissioners and all concerned departments to remain active in the field throughout the holidays to ensure that safety regulations are properly followed.
Officials have suspended leave for administrative staff and directed them to personally monitor festival preparations and ground-level safety measures.
Commissioner Maryam Khan stressed that assistant commissioners and their teams must strictly follow all safety guidelines issued for Basant. She also ordered that awareness campaigns through Basant camps should continue across the city, along with the installation of safety rods.
She asked officers to coordinate with residents, encourage cooperation, and work together to make sure the festival is celebrated in a safe and responsible way.
The administration has reaffirmed its dedication to protecting public safety while enabling citizens to celebrate Basant in a well-organised and secure environment.
