CM Punjab directs immediate safety audit of schools across province

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered an immediate safety audit of school buildings situated in densely populated areas across the province following a tragic incident in Lahore.

She directed the relevant authorities to inspect school structures for any safety risks and ensure they meet approved construction standards. The chief minister also ordered strict legal action against those found responsible for negligence or poor-quality construction and asked officials to submit a detailed report on the condition of school buildings.

The decision came after the roof of a private school in Lahore collapsed in the Baghbanpura area, claiming the life of an eight-year-old boy and injuring several others. The school was reportedly holding a summer camp when a section of an under-construction building gave way.
