Following the recent rise in petroleum prices, auto-rickshaw drivers have increased their fares, causing difficulties for daily commuters.
Drivers say fares have gone up by 30 to 40 percent, explaining that the sharp increase in fuel costs makes it impossible to operate at the previous rates.
Commuters are frustrated, saying that inflation has already stretched household budgets, and the higher transport fares are adding more financial pressure.
