The death toll from dengue fever has climbed to 26 after three more patients died in Hyderabad, while 19 new cases were reported in Rawalpindi over the past 24 hours, as per the report on Sunday.
According to health officials, 30-year-old Mohammad Arshad Madni from Karachi succumbed to dengue at a private hospital in Hyderabad’s Latifabad area after being transferred from Karachi in critical condition.
Sindh has reported 793 new dengue cases, with 233 patients currently under treatment in various public and private hospitals.
In Rawalpindi, the District Health Authority (DHA) confirmed 19 new cases in the last day, bringing the total to 1,561 infections so far. Currently, 28 dengue patients are hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported in the district.
The DHA stated that 20,798 people have been tested for dengue this year, while over 6.1 million homes were inspected, out of which 209,036 tested positive for dengue larvae.
During the ongoing anti-dengue campaign, 228,794 breeding sites were destroyed, 1,909 locations sealed, and 3,664 were fined for violating dengue SOPs, generating over Rs10.13 million in penalties.
