The Punjab Health Department has put all government hospitals across the province on high alert following an emergency.
In an official notification, the department directed all District Health Authorities and public hospitals to keep their emergency wards fully active around the clock.
District Headquarters and Tehsil Headquarters hospitals have been instructed to ensure that operation theatres and radiology units remain functional at all hours so they can respond promptly to any medical emergency.
Hospitals have also been told to make sure specialist doctors, including physicians, surgeons and orthopedic surgeons, are available along with nurses, paramedics, and other supporting staff.

The department has ordered medical facilities to maintain adequate stocks of medicines, IV fluids and surgical equipment. Trauma care and surgical emergency arrangements must remain ready at all times, with close coordination maintained with the district administration and Rescue 1122.
Officials stressed that staff duty rosters must be strictly followed in shifts to guarantee uninterrupted emergency medical services throughout the province.
