The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has announced a major reshuffle of its officers, with transfer and posting orders taking effect immediately.

The Director General of SBCA approved the changes as part of an administrative reorganization within the authority.

According to the official notification, Engineer Faheem Murtaza has been appointed as Director of Architecture and Planning.

The reshuffle also covers the transfer and posting of several directors, deputy directors, and assistant directors in different departments.

Administrative changes have been made across Karachi’s East, South, and Malir districts, while many officers have been assigned additional responsibilities alongside their existing roles.

The notification further stated that several officials have been instructed to report to the Administration Section until further orders.

All transfer and posting orders have come into force with immediate effect.

Earlier, the SBCA introduced a digital one-window system to improve transparency, speed up the issuance of construction permits, and make services more convenient for the public.

The new system offers a range of online facilities for citizens, builders, architects, and engineers. These include online applications, e-payment of challans, real-time application tracking, SMS notifications, e-certification, digital approvals, enhanced security features, a mobile application, an e-portal, a dynamic website, courier services, and better coordination between departments.

Under the proposed procedure, Category One cases involving residential plots of up to 399 square yards under specified conditions, as well as residential bungalows larger than 399 square yards, will be processed through the one-window facility within 15 days, provided all required documents are submitted and legal requirements are fulfilled.

Category Two and Category Three construction cases will continue to be handled by the respective district offices in line with the applicable rules and regulations.

Category Four cases related to public sale, public-use, and industrial buildings will be processed through the one-window cell. Major town planning and land development projects falling under Category Five will also be handled through the same facility.
