Transporters increase fares across Lahore

Following a rise in diesel prices, transporters in Lahore have increased bus fares by Rs50 to Rs150. The fare for travel from Lahore to Rawalpindi has gone up from Rs1,600 to Rs1,750, while trips to Rahim Yar Khan now cost Rs1,900 after a Rs150 increase.

Fares from Lahore to Gujranwala have also been raised.

Passengers said the hike adds to their financial burden amid rising prices of daily essentials. Citizens have urged the government to lower diesel prices to provide some relief.

The government has kept petrol prices steady at Rs253.17 per litre. However, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs11.30 per litre, bringing it to Rs268.38 per litre.
