Gold prices in Pakistan continued to fall on the first day of 2026, following a downward trend in the international market.
In the local market, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs2,400 and settled at Rs454,562, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association. The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs2,058 to Rs389,713.
A day earlier, on Wednesday, gold prices had already fallen, with the per tola rate decreasing by Rs2,500 to Rs456,962.
In the global market, gold prices slipped by $24 to $4,322 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
Silver prices in Pakistan also moved lower, as the per tola rate dropped by Rs83 to Rs7,635.
