Virat Kohli made history by becoming the first Indian batter to reach 13,000 runs in T20 cricket during an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

To achieve this significant milestone, Kohli needed just 17 runs in the game, which he successfully scored, setting the record.

He accomplished the feat in his 386th innings of his 403rd T20 match, making him the second-fastest player to reach 13,000 T20 runs globally, behind West Indian cricket legend Chris Gayle, who achieved this milestone in 381 innings.

Kohli’s remarkable achievement places him in an exclusive group of just five batters who have scored 13,000 or more runs in T20 cricket.

Other notable players in this category include Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik, and Kieron Pollard, who have reached the 13,000-run mark in more innings than Kohli.

This achievement highlights Kohli’s consistency and brilliance in the T20 format, adding another impressive milestone to his illustrious cricketing career.
