In a dramatic escalation of military engagement, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces had conducted targeted airstrikes on three strategic sites in Iran, deepening Washington’s involvement in Israel’s ongoing offensive against Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure.

The move, which Trump confirmed via social media, marks a sharp shift in regional dynamics and could trigger broader instability, as Iran had previously warned of retaliation if the U.S. entered the conflict directly.

The strikes targeted Iran’s underground nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, sites considered heavily fortified.

Trump stated, “We have successfully completed our strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

All aircraft are out of Iranian airspace. A full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow, the main target. All crews are returning safely.”

These operations followed more than a week of Israeli attacks focused on Iran’s missile defenses and nuclear infrastructure.

U.S. stealth aircraft and powerful bunker-busting munitions were reportedly used, equipment that only America currently possesses with the capability to reach deeply buried targets.

While Trump noted that B-2 stealth bombers were involved, he did not disclose the exact munitions used. Neither the Pentagon nor the White House has released further operational details.

The decision could prove politically volatile for Trump, whose administration has largely been defined by promises to reduce foreign military engagements.

Now, with U.S. forces actively targeting Iran, analysts warn of a potential spiral into a broader regional conflict if Tehran responds militarily.
