Kuwaiti authorities have announced the holiday schedule for Eidul Adha 2025, following the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of Dhul Qida, the 11th month in the Islamic calendar.
This announcement comes as the final Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah approaches, which marks the start of the Hajj pilgrimage and the celebration of Eidul Adha.
Reports indicate that Kuwait’s Council of Ministers has officially declared a public holiday from June 5 to 8 (Thursday to Sunday) for Arafat Day and Eidul Adha.
The holiday will be followed by a rest day on Monday, June 9, with work resuming on June 10.
Astronomers predict that the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah will be sighted on May 27, with May 28 being the first day of the month in Kuwait.
The Day of Arafah is expected to take place on June 5, followed by Eidul Adha on June 6.
Eidul Adha, one of the most significant religious festivals, is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS). The festival is observed on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar.
