The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced that all universities and degree awarding institutions (DAIs) will resume on-campus academic activities from April 1, 2026.

An official notification sent to higher education institutions stated that this decision follows earlier directives issued on March 10, 2026, concerning austerity measures and fuel conservation strategies across the education sector.

Under the updated instructions, all public and private universities and DAIs have been advised to fully restore in-person classes from April 1, ensuring a return to normal academic routines after a period of reduced operations aimed at saving energy and fuel.

In continuation of directives issued by HEC dated March 10, regarding the implementation of austerity and fuel conservation measures, all Universities and DAIs may resume physical classes from April 1.
