Through coordinated efforts by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, new employment prospects have emerged in Europe for Pakistani workers, with Italy offering a significant number of jobs, as reported on Saturday.

A ministry spokesperson confirmed that the Italian government has set aside a quota of 10,500 positions for Pakistani citizens. This progress came after Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhary Salik Hussain formally approached Italian authorities on the matter.

Details shared by the ministry show that 3,500 Pakistanis will go to Italy on regular employment visas. Another 1,500 will be hired under the seasonal quota, while 2,000 positions fall under the non-seasonal category. The remaining jobs will be filled through different sector based arrangements.

According to the spokesperson, vacancies are available in areas such as shipbreaking, hospitality, healthcare, and agriculture. Skilled and semi skilled roles include welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeeping staff, nurses, medical technicians, and farm workers.

Chaudhary Salik Hussain welcomed the allocation and congratulated the nation, announcing that a joint working group meeting between Pakistan and Italy is planned in Islamabad in February 2026.

He described the development as an important step in opening doors for Pakistani workers in the European job market and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to secure better overseas employment options.

The minister also highlighted the role of overseas Pakistanis in supporting the national economy and representing the country abroad.

He added that similar job opportunities from other European states are expected in the near future.
