Saudi investors want to buy Pakistani airport

Saudi Arabia’s Asyad Group is looking to expand its investments in Pakistan and is considering taking part in the country’s upcoming airport privatization process.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Asyad Group CEO Ghassan Ahmed Amodi to discuss the group’s current investments in Pakistan, future expansion plans and possible new projects.

Amodi said Pakistan remains an important market for the group outside Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its long-term commitment to investing in the country.

During the meeting, he also shared details of Asyad Group’s plans to participate in the airport privatization process. The group is working with Saudi and international partners that have the required technical expertise for the opportunity.

The two sides also discussed the expansion of Wafi Energy Pakistan, particularly its retail network, storage capacity and digitalization efforts. The company briefed the minister on its investments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas and outlined plans to further expand its operations.

Asyad Group is also assessing investment opportunities in Pakistan’s financial sector and plans to facilitate connections between Saudi and Pakistani investors for potential projects.

Aurangzeb highlighted opportunities created through the government’s privatization programme and said Pakistan is seeking reliable investors with a long-term interest in the country.

He also pointed to Pakistan’s strategic location and its potential to serve as a gateway to regional markets, assuring investors of continued government support.

The meeting was also attended by Asyad Group CFO Javaid Akhtar, Wafi Energy Pakistan CEO Zubair Shaikh, and Corporate and Government Relations Director Imran Hussain Qureshi.
