Punjab govt expands electric bus service to another district

The Punjab government has expanded its electric bus initiative to another district under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Green Mobility vision. As part of the latest phase, the environmentally friendly public transport service has now been introduced in Layyah.

A total of 10 electric buses have been delivered to the district, while five more will be added to the fleet in the near future. The project is aimed at providing residents with safer, more comfortable and eco-friendly transportation.

Earlier, the government announced a similar initiative for Narowal, where 11 electric buses will operate on six routes. The fare has been set at Rs20 per trip.

The Punjab government is gradually extending its electric bus network across the province to strengthen public transport, encourage sustainable travel and make commuting more affordable for people.
