A team of eight Pakistani women climbers has successfully reached the summit of the 6,040-metre Khusar Gang Peak during the Alpine Club of Pakistan’s second women’s expedition to the mountain.
The achievement marks another milestone for women’s mountaineering in the country and highlights the growing involvement of female climbers in high-altitude expeditions.
The expedition was led by Bibi Afzoon and included climbers from Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad, reflecting the growing mountaineering talent from across Pakistan.
The team was supported by experienced high-altitude guides Ali Muhammad Sadpara, Sadiq Hussain Sadpara and Ilyas Hushe throughout the climb. Qaid Shigri fixed ropes along the route, helping ensure the team’s safe ascent to the summit.

Alpine Club of Pakistan Secretary General Ayaz Shigri congratulated the climbers and praised their achievement, saying it reflects the courage, dedication and professional skills of Pakistani women.
He said the successful expedition is an important step in encouraging more women to take part in mountaineering and added that the Alpine Club will continue providing opportunities for female climbers to demonstrate their abilities at both national and international levels.
