Cloudflare, one of the major pillars of global internet infrastructure, suffered an outage that disrupted or slowed down many websites and online platforms across the world.

The issue affected WordPress-powered sites used by numerous news outlets, along with social media platform X.

According to Downdetector, thousands of users around the world reported problems around 5 PM Pakistan time. Daily Magazine’s website also went down during the disruption, and several of its WordPress tools stopped functioning.

Cloudflare’s status page initially posted the following notice:

“Cloudflare is experiencing an internal service degradation. Some services may be intermittently impacted. We are focused on restoring service. We will update as we can remediate. More updates to follow shortly.”

A later update from the company brought some relief: “We are seeing services recover, but customers may continue to observe higher-than-normal error rates as we continue remediation efforts.”

In short, some websites and platforms are gradually coming back online, but it may take more time before everything returns to normal. For now, users and site owners will have to wait as Cloudflare continues working on the problem.
