The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays for the next two months due to the ongoing petroleum shortage.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department issued a notification following instructions from the provincial cabinet regarding the temporary change in the weekly schedule.
Under the new arrangement, government and private schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed on Friday and Saturday. Classes and other academic activities will continue as usual during the remaining five days of the week.

The decision will remain in place for two months and has been taken as part of efforts to save fuel amid the current petroleum shortage. Authorities also expect the move to ease transportation problems faced by students, teachers and other educational staff.
The notification applies to all public and private educational institutions covered by the provincial education system across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
