The Government of Pakistan has announced 4,500 scholarships for Afghan students, offering them the chance to pursue studies in Medicine, Engineering, Agriculture, Management, Computer Science, and other disciplines.
The program is designed to strengthen Pakistan-Afghanistan ties, enhance people-to-people connections, and contribute to Afghanistan’s rebuilding by developing skilled human resources.
The scholarships cover full tuition fees, living stipends, book allowances, and hostel charges at Pakistani universities. Students can apply for undergraduate, MS/M.Phil, and PhD programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate: Applicants must have completed 12 years of education, be 17–23 years old, and hold at least 60% marks in general subjects or 65% in medical and engineering subjects as per IBCC Pakistan’s equivalency formula.
MS/M.Phil: Applicants must be under 35 years old, have 16 years of education, and a minimum 2.5 CGPA out of 4.0.
PhD: The age limit is 35 years for non-faculty candidates and 40 years for faculty. Applicants must have 18 years of education with at least a 3.0 CGPA in their MS/M.Phil’s degree.
How to Apply
Applications can only be submitted online through pakafghan.hec.gov.pk, where a user manual is available to guide applicants. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.

The last date to apply is 30 September 2025.
