UK Parliament honors Bushra Ansari for her contributions to drama industry

The British Parliament has honored Pakistan’s legendary actress, Bushra Ansari, for her outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry. As well as for her dedicated efforts toward social causes.

Notably, she is the first drama actress to receive the prestigious Award of Recognition. MP Yasmin Qureshi hosted the event, which the British Asian Society and Samara Events UK organized.

The ceremony paid tribute to Bushra Ansari’s remarkable television performances, which solidified her reputation as one of Pakistan’s most influential and celebrated artists.

Several distinguished personalities attended the event, including MP Afzal Khan, A. Haq (Chairman of the British Asian Society), Maria Soraya, and Amal Hafeez.

Additionally, the veteran actress’s community leaders, artists, and admirers gathered to celebrate her achievements.

During her speech, Bushra Ansari emphasized the significant role of Pakistani dramas in promoting the country’s culture, traditional attire, and Urdu language. She pointed out how these dramas have gained recognition in the UK and worldwide.

Expressing her gratitude, she dedicated the award to fellow artists and storytellers working tirelessly to showcase Pakistan’s cultural heritage globally. “It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting,” she stated.

MP Yasmin Qureshi also praised Bushra Ansari’s decades-long career. She acknowledged the actress’s contributions to popularizing Pakistani culture and inspiring the next generation of artists to follow in her footsteps.

Before Bushra Ansari, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa had also received recognition from the UK Parliament for their exceptional achievements in their respective fields.
