The revised timetable aims to help residents plan their daily routines, particularly cooking, amid ongoing gas shortages in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and nearby areas.

According to SNGPL officials, gas will only be available during designated mealtimes: 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

This schedule ensures that gas is provided at full pressure during these hours to meet household needs efficiently.

Company representatives stated that these adjustments align with government directives and will be strictly followed in all serviced regions.

SNGPL currently provides gas to over 7.22 million customers across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other parts of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has announced a new oil and gas discovery from the Spinwam-1 well in North Waziristan’s Karghar Formation.

The well is yielding 20.48 MMCFD of gas and 117 barrels of oil per day, marking the second successful extraction from this site. This discovery is expected to ease the country’s energy shortfall.

In July 2024, Mari Petroleum also identified new gas reserves from five wells in Sindh, with natural gas from the Ghazij Gas Field now being supplied to SNGPL.
