A major province-wide crackdown on traffic violations is currently in progress, with authorities taking strict action against offenders. Between April 4 and April 14, 2025, traffic police impounded 7,860 motorcycles for various violations.

At first, they enforced the rules for those riding without helmets. Then, they started targeting 596 vehicles with illegal modifications like fancy number plates and tinted windows. Additionally, 193 heavy vehicles, including dumpers and tankers, faced penalties.

In more serious cases, the authorities recommended canceling the registration of 25 vehicles permanently while temporarily suspending 144 others. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reviewed the progress report and stressed the need for rigorous enforcement.

He issued specific directives, including strict action against motorcyclists not wearing helmets and immediate fines for vehicles with unauthorized modifications. The Chief Minister also ordered a 30 km/h speed limit for commercial heavy vehicles in city limits.

“These measures are crucial for ensuring public safety, and compliance with traffic regulations must be enforced at all costs,” Shah stated. The crackdown reflects the government’s commitment to reducing accidents and improving road discipline.
