Karachi: Punjab officials has announced new school timing rules due to worsening air quality levels. According to the EPA notice, all public and private schools must not start classes before 8:15 am starting December 4, 2024.

This decision updates orders that were issued earlier this year, including orders from October 22, November 18, and November 24, 2024. The step aims to create better conditions for the environment and protect student’s health and safety.

The revised timing rule will apply to all schools across Punjab and will stay in place until new orders are issued.

The new guidelines highlights that changing school timings will help improve air quality and public health, while also making school schedules more environmental friendly. The EPA has urged all schools to follow these new timings strictly or they have to face legal action.

This change is one of many steps the Punjab government is taking to improve environmental conditions and reduce how early morning traffic and pollution affect students.
