The School Education Department has moved forward with plans to regularize over 14,000 educators across Punjab, including 3,000 Assistant Education Officers (AEOs), following a crucial committee meeting on the issue.
Officials at the meeting confirmed that the regularization process would begin soon. It was decided that a summary recommending permanent appointments” without requiring PPSC exams” will be sent to the Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, for final approval.
Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) General Secretary Rana Liaqat Ali, who was present at the meeting, welcomed the development and described it as a long-standing demand of educators throughout the province.
He also applauded the Punjab Education Minister, calling the decision “a commendable step” in securing the futures of thousands of teachers working on contract.
