Former England Test captain Sir Alastair Cook is gearing up for his HBL PSL debut as a commentator, as the Pakistan Cricket Board announced an impressive commentary lineup for HBL PSL X on Sunday.

The tenth edition of the six-team tournament will kick off on April 11 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and wrap up on May 18 with the final match at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

All 34 matches will be held across four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

Alastair Cook will be joined by another celebrated English voice, former MCC President Mark Nicholas, who has long been associated with SKY Sports in the UK and Channel 9 in Australia.

Dominic Cork and Mark Butcher join the commentary panel from England. South African voices will include Jean-Paul Duminy and Mike Haysman, adding further international appeal to the coverage.

Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan and New Zealand’s former Test star Martin Guptill are also part of the commentary team. Representing Australia is Lisa Sthalekar, a two-time ICC Women’s World Cup winner, who will bring her insight to the league.

From Pakistan, the commentary team includes four former Test captains – Aamir Sohail, Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, and Wasim Akram. Both Waqar and Wasim are members of the ICC and PCB Halls of Fame. They will be joined by former Test cricketer Bazid Khan, ex-women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz, and cricket analyst Sikander Bakht.

In a first for the league, PSL X will also offer a full broadcast in Urdu commentary. The Urdu commentary team features Ali Younis, Aqeel Samar, Marina Iqbal, Salman Butt, and Tariq Saeed, with additional support from the main Pakistani commentators during selected segments.

Erin Holland and Zainab Abbas will be presenting the league matches.

HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer expressed enthusiasm, saying: “We are excited to welcome a star-studded commentary team, featuring some of the most iconic names in the cricketing world — including legendary former Test captains and top-tier broadcasters. Their involvement not only enhances the quality of our coverage but also highlights the global stature of the HBL PSL.”
