Pakistan has decided to extend its airspace closure for Indian aircraft by another month, with a formal Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) expected later today to confirm the continuation of this restriction.

Originally imposed on April 24 due to rising tensions between the two nations, the ban was previously extended on May 23.

With the current NOTAM set to expire today, officials have chosen to prolong the measure as part of efforts to ensure the safety and security of national airspace.

The updated NOTAM will outline the terms of the extension, which applies only to Indian aircraft. Pakistan’s skies remain open to all other international flights, so most global routes will not be affected.

This ongoing restriction has forced Indian airlines to adjust their routes, leading to longer travel times and higher operational expenses.

The move is a part of Pakistan’s broader approach to protecting its airspace amid strained relations with India.
