Naomi, although she admits to not giving charity as a duty, insists that she had anything to do with the financial misconduct or misuse of the charity or using it for personal gain during its operation.

The Fashion for Relief didn’t respond right away to a comment, and Campbell could not be reached till later this Friday in London.

She “May not have been as actively engaged in the charity’s day-to-day operations as she should have been”, Campbell’s spokesman claimed telling The Guardian also stating that she  “never engaged in any form of financial misconduct”.

Last month, she was outlawed from being a charity trustee for the next five years after an investigation found that funds raised for good causes were used for cigarettes and spa days.

Naomi claimed that she had never gotten payment for her involvement with the Fashion for Relief fundraisers, nor had she taken out any personal expenses from the organization. The Guardian also wrote quoting a statement issued on behalf of Campbell on Friday.

She founded the Fashion For Relief fund in 2005, planning to raise funds for humanitarian causes by performing runway shows. Still, the charity was expelled from Britain’s list of charities following this year.

A thorough investigation into the organization by the Charity Commission found multiple pieces of evidence of misconduct and mismanagement, and the authorities confirmed that it was banning Campbell plus two others from trusteeship as an outcome.

In between the period of 2016-2022, the regulator found that only 8.5% of Fashion for Relief’s expenses were directed towards charitable subsidies. Unsupervised payments of 290,000 pounds ($388,000) were made to one of the trustees, while money was constantly spent on room service, spa treatments and cigarettes.
