The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has updated its policy for overseas Pakistanis seeking to change the age on their National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

Under the revised guidelines, applicants can now request age modifications through the Pak ID mobile app, at NADRA offices, or at Pakistani embassies abroad.

Eligibility & Required Documents

Approval depends on how much the age is being adjusted and what documents are provided:

First-time changes up to five years need a Pakistani passport, matric certificate, recent mark sheet, or service book.

Second-time changes (up to 366 days) require documents like a Pakistani or foreign passport, resident permit, or matric certificate.

Changes based on birth certificates are allowed up to one year, whether using Pakistani or foreign-issued birth records.

If siblings have an age difference of less than seven months, a change of up to one year is allowed without documentation.

Fee Breakdown

NADRA has introduced a tiered fee system depending on the scale of change:

NADRA emphasized that these changes aim to make the process more accessible and transparent for overseas Pakistanis.

“Previously, NADRA clarified that birth, death, and marriage registrations are governed by provincial laws and handled by Union Councils.”
