LESCO imposes stricter rules for electricity consumers

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has temporarily stopped the option of paying electricity bills in installments as part of its push to meet June’s recovery goals.

As per the instructions, LESCO has told its teams to cut off power supply to anyone who hasn’t cleared their current bill or has any unpaid dues. Consumers are required to pay their full June bills in one go, with no exceptions.

Officials have also been tasked with collecting any outstanding payments that appear on the bills.

In the past, LESCO allowed people to pay their dues in parts, but that option is no longer available for this month. The change aims to boost revenue collection.

The company clarified that extensions on bill due dates will still be allowed under NEPRA rules. But if payments aren’t made even after an extension, the power supply will be disconnected.

These new instructions apply across the board, to residential, commercial, and industrial customers alike.
